Abstract

Objective: To assess the relationship of some clinical, biochemical factors to liver fibrosis and the value of some noninvasive methods for diagnosis of liver fibrosis. Subject and method: A cross-sectional study of 102 patients with liver fatty disease diagnosed by liver biopsy and histopathological examination. Result and conclusion: BMI and abdominal circumference were risk factors that were related to the degree of liver fibrosis. Serum AST, GGT were positively correlated with the degree of liver fibrosis; platelet, prothrombin ratio was inversely correlated with the degree of liver fibrosis. APRI, FIB4, Forns had a high value in the diagnosis of cirrhosis and advanced liver fibrosis (F3 - F4) in fatty liver disease, and had moderate value in the diagnosis of mild and moderate liver fibrosis (F1 - F2), without diagnosis early liver fibrosis.
