Abstract

Objective: To investigate the image findings of branchial plexus injuries on CT myelography. Subject and method: The study was performed on 179 patients with trauma history and clinically suspected brachial plexus lesions, which were then diagnosed by CT myelography and operated at Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics, 108 Military Central Hospital from May 2015 to May 2019. It is a prospective, cross-sectional descriptive study. Result: Signs of ventral root damage and dorsal root damage accounted high percentage at almost locations from C5-T1. Having 2 or 3 damage signs accounted for high percentage at all roots level, the two most common damage signs appearing together were ventral root damage and dorsal root damage, the 3 most common damage signs appearing together were ventral root damage and dorsal root damage and pseudomeningocele. Complete avulsion lesions of A3 degree were high rate (the highest at C6 was 45.8%), then to A2 degree and M degree according to Nagano’s classification. Conclusion: CT myelography can find the signs in detail of roots avulsion due to brachial plexus injuries
