Characteristics of women in reproductive age having positive tests for Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and HPV at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital

Abstract
Objective: Our study aimed to evaluate some characteristics of women in reproductive age having postive tests for Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and HPV at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. Subject and method: This cross-sectional descriptive study recruited 4988 women aged 19 - 49 that had gynecological examination at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital from 1/1/2015 to 31/12/2015. 1506 patients were tested for only HPV, 3199 patients were tested for both Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis, 283 patients were tested for all (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis and HPV). Each participant had an interview, gynecological examination including cervical samples for Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis and HPV detection by realtime PCR. Result: Women infected by Chlamydia trachomatis were mainly aged 19 - 24 (57.3%), worked as freelancer (56.72%), lived in the suburban areas of Hanoi (75.22%), had high incomes (54.03%), had been married (87.76%), used to be infertile (43.58%). Women infected by Neisseria gonorrhoeae were mainly aged 19 - 24 (42.9%), worked as freelancer (80.95%), all lived in the suburban areas of Hanoi (100%), had high incomes (61,9%), had been married (85.01%), had history of vaginitis or vulvitis (85.71%). Women infected by HPV were mainly aged 19 - 24 (43%), worked as freelancer (42.48%), lived in the suburban areas of Hanoi (72.82%), had high incomes (67.55%), had been married (84.96%), had history of cervicitis (54.26%). Conclusion: Prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and HPV infections among women of reproductive age were higher in these groups: Age of 19 - 24, working as freelancer, living in suburban areas of Hanoi, having high incomes, being married, having history of infertility or vaginitis, vulvitis, cervicitis
