Abstract
Objective: The study aimed to assess the level of stereoacuity and related factors in children with strabismus. Subject and method: The study was designed as a transverse study conducted in 55 strabismic patients, aged from 3 to 15 years old seen at the Vietnam National Eye Hospital from September 2017 to July 2018. Patients had a comprehensive eye examination, the angle of strabismus was measured with prisms, the stereoacuity was measured with Titmus test. Result: The mean stereoacuity of children with strabismus was 318.36 ± 265.84 seconds of arc. The degree of stereoacuity was higher in esotropic patients than in exotropic patients. The stereoacuity was higher in patients with constant strabismus. The age was related to the degree of stereoacuity. Amblyopia and trauma was related to the degree of stereoacuity but not statistically significant. Conclusion: Assesment the level of stereoacuity is useful for treatment of strabismus in children.
