Abstract

Objective: Comment on visual characteristics of some common cystic lesions in the lower jaw on X-ray. Subject and method: Medical records of 79 patients. Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study. Result: The features of the cyst include: One-chamber (95%) structure, homogeneous lenses, contrast-enhanced (70%), polar or curved lines, always accompanied by an impacted tooth (100%). Ameloblastoma had single or multiple chamber structure, but mostly multi-chamber (62.5%), most of which were larger than 30mm (95.8%), homogeneous lenses, often multi-border outline (79.2%). Conclusion: Three types of lesions are uniformly transparent, the ameloblastoma and crown cysts are mainly at the angle of the jaw while the root cyst are uniformly distributed in the teeth areas.
