Abstract

Objective: To review the obstetric treatment results of preeclampsia cases delivered at Phu Tho Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 106 patients with a gestational age of over 22 weeks diagnosed, treated for preeclampsia and delivered at Phu Tho Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Result: The group of patients under 35 years old accounted for a high proportion. Premature gestational age accounted for the highest proportion at 68.8%. There was a correlation between gestational age at birth and the degree of preeclampsia with p<0.05. The proportion of pregnant women indicated for termination of pregnancy was 89.6%. The indication for cesarean section by the mother was 26.4%, by the fetus was 32.1%. The proportion of infants weighing < 1500 grams in the severe preeclampsia group was 10.4%. Among the 14 pregnant women with complications, HELLP syndrome was the most common, accounting for 5.6%. Conclusion: The group of patients under 35 years old accounted for a high proportion. There was a correlation between gestational age at birth and the level of preeclampsia with p<0.05. Most preeclampsia cases were indicated for termination of pregnancy with a high rate of cesarean section. The complications of preeclampsia for the mother were relatively severe, especially HELLP syndrome.
