Evaluation of the supportive treatment effect of moderate acne vulgaris by applying Fob 10 lotion

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the supportive effect of moderate acne vulgaris treatment by applying FOB 10 lotion. Subject and method: A prospective clinical trial study comparing 2 groups, each group consisted of 65 patients with moderate acne vulgaris diagnosis at the Dermatology Clinic - Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from 10/2018 to 8/2019, the treatment period was 8 weeks with the treatment group using oral doxycycline 200mg/day combined with topical FOB 10, the control group using oral doxycycline 200mg/day combined with topical halox. Result: Doxycycline combined with FOB 10 Lotion after 8 weeks of treatment gave good results with a rate of 33.85%, higher than that of doxycycline combined with Halox (6.15%). Side effects of doxycycline combined with FOB 10 Lotion after 8 weeks of treatment are burning and scaling with the rate of 6.15% and 7.69%, lower than the regimen of doxycycline combined with Halox (15.38% and 12.31%). Conclusion: Oral doxycycline combined with FOB 10 Lotion gave higher good treatment results and less burning and scaling when combined with halox.
