Abstract

Objective: Evaluate initial results of orthotopic ileal neo bladder replacement after radical cystectomy in Thanh Hoa General Hospital. Subject and method: Including 11 cases of invades muscle bladder cancer undergone radical cystectomy and replaced by orthotopic ileal neo bladder in Thanh Hoa General Hospital from Feb 2016 to May 2016. Study by descriptive method, data were collected prospectively. Result: Average age was 59.5 years. Men make up 100%. The volume of neo bladder 150ml - 300ml. Urine residual 50ml - 100ml. The operative time is 160 minutes (excluding the time for radical cystectomy). The gastrointestinal circulation time 4 days. The Redon drainage time 7 days. Suprapubic cystostomy time 30 days.  Blood loss 45ml - 50ml. No disasters in operating or death. Complications: Late gastrointestinal circulation 2 cases; urine Leakage through Redon drainage 1 case; stone of bladder neck 1 case. The satisfaction rate was 81.8%. Conclusion: Orthotopic ileal neo bladder replacement by the Hautmann method after radical cystectomy bring a better quality of life for patients. This surgery can be done at the provincial hospital, but should have full equipment as well as the surgeon must have experience and specialized training.
