Abstract

Objective: To study some technical characteristics of single incision transabdominal preperitoneal laparoscopic surgery (SILS - TAPP) in treatment of inguinal hernia in 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: Description of cross-sectional retrospective associated prospective study of 91 patients were treated inguinal hernia with single incision TAPP in 108 Military Central Hospital from July 2011 to July 2015. Result: 100% male, mean age was 53.24 ± 17.44; recurrent inguinal hernia is 11.0%. 100% incision of the skin across umbilicius to insert Triport; incised peritonaeal crease above the hernia hole 2cml incise from the umbilicius ligament to anterior superior iliac spine on the same side; 52.58% hernia sac which was pulled into abdomen; 100% fixation of graft into Cooper’s ligament, iliopubic tract, rectus muscle and transversus abdominis by ProTack. Difficult intraoperative encountered commonly at dissection and tackling hernia sac (18.7%); 2.2% of patients were inserted trocar; average surgery time was 45.88 ± 16.46 minutes; complications intraoperative encountered 3.3% of cases; no deaths. Conclusion: Single incision TAPP is safe and effective method in treatment of inguinal hernia, which can apply for recurrent inguinal hernia or history of inguinaland abdominal surgery
