Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the results of single incision transabdominal peripetoneal laparoscopic surgery. Subject and method: Retrospective cohort associated prospective cohort of 91 patients with 97 hernia holes was operated by single incicse TAPP to treat inguinal hernia, at 108 Military Central Hospital  from July 2011 to July 2015. Result: 100% male patients; average age 53.53 ± 17.63 years old; there were 6 cases with bilateral inguinal hernia (6.6%) and 11.0% of recurrent inguinal hernia. Average surgery time was 45.88 ± 16.46 minutes; mean of postoperative pain time was 2.55 ± 1.14 days, postoperative time stay 6.76 ± 2.57 days. Rate of early results: Good 91.2%; rate of early complication was 8.8%; no deaths. Long-term follow-up of 32.6 ± 15.4 months was 87 patients (95.6%), good results 93.1%; 5.75% of distal complications; one case of recurrence (1.15%). Conclusion: Single incision transabdominal preperitoneal laparoscopic surgery is a safe and efficient produce for the treatment of inguinal hernia.
