Abstract

Objective: To investigate the result of CT-guided transthoracic biopsy in order to determine the histopathological tumor, the efficacy and the safety technique. Subject and method: Retrospective study from 05/2018 to 04/2020 at 115 People Hospital. Result: 50 patients, mean age: 21.1 years old. Anterior mediastinal: 55%. Average tumor size: 4.2cm. Tumor size ≥ 2.5cm, the probability of diagnosis was 92.1%. If punctured more than 2 times, the accuracy of diagnosis was 91.72%. Complications included: pneumothorax and pulmonary parenchymal hematoma: 5%. Conclusion: CT-guided transthoracic biopsy is able to accurately diagnose the pathology of the tumor. The effectiveness of the technique had a sensitivity of 89%, specificity of 100%, positive predictive value of 100% and a negative predictive value of 88%.
