Result of lifestyle change interventions combined with metformine among prediabetes patients at Military Unit in Ha Noi

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the result of lifestyle change intervention combined with metformine among prediabetes patients at Military Unit in Ha Noi. Subject and method: Intervention study combined with longitudinal monitoring on 70 subjects screened through periodic health examinations from August 2022 to August 2023. Result: After one year of intervention with lifestyle changes combined with metformin, test results showed that 4 people became truly diabetic, while 66 subjects had prediabetes. Fasting blood glucose after intervention decreased from 6.8 ± 1.7 to 6.1 ± 2.3 (p<0.05) and cholesterol from 5.1 ± 1.0 to 4.3 ± 0.8 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Lifestyle change interventions combined Metformine on prediabetic subjects showed effectiveness in reducing paraclinical indicators that decreased lipid blood and fasting glucose blood.
