Abstract

Objective: To investigate the change of peripheral platelet indices in ovarian cancer patients and the value of peripheral platelet indices in the diagnosis of primary ovarian cancer. Subject and method: 189 patients with ovarian cancer and 161 patients with benign ovarian tumors were diagnosed by cytology at the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Result: (1) Increased plateletes count, PLR in ovarian cancer group compared with benign ovarian tumor. (2) With cut-off threshold of plateletes count, PLR respectively 262, 126.91 were valuable in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer, with plateletes count > 262G/l, PLR > 126.91 the possibility of ovarian cancer were higher 2.013 and 4.7 times than lower values. Conclusion: Increased plateletes count, PLR in ovarian cancer group compared with benign ovarian tumor. The plateletes count, PLR are prognostic markers in patients with ovarian cancer.
