Transanal opening of intersphincteric space - TROPIS in treatment of anal fistula

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the initial results of TROPIS-Transanal Opening of Intersphincteric Space procedure for anal fistula treatment. Subject and method: The patients were diagnosed with high transphincteric fistula (Parks classification: Type II, III, IV) from June 2022 to June 2023 at Viet Duc University Hospital. Result: 09/09 patients (100%) completly healed, the average healing time was 45 days, no postoperative incontinence. Conclusion: TROPIS is an effective treatment for anal fistula, preserves anal sphincter and anal function. Research is ongoing with larger numbers, longer follow-up periods.
