Effective treatment of moderate and severity psoriasis vulgaris by acitretine

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the results of treatment of moderate and severe psoriasis vulgaris by oral acitretine. Subject and method: 40 patients with moderate and severe psoriasis vulgaris, 30 men, 10 women, mean age 59.23 ± 13.39 and PASI: 18.53 ± 3.83, moderate level 26 patients, severe severity 14 patients were treated inpatient at Thanh Hoa Dermatology Hospital from 3-2022 to 8-2022. Dosage of acitretine was 25mg/day × 8 weeks. Evaluation of clinical treatment results, side effects before and after treatment. Result: PASI decreased 78.58% (18.53 ± 3.83 decreased to 3.97 ± 0.92). In which, good 82.5%, quite 17.5%. Side effects: Dry lips 87.5%, dry eyes 30%, dry skin 20% and triglycerides, HDL-C, LDL-C increased statistically, all with p<0.001. Conclusion: Acitretine is effective in treating moderate and severe of psoriasis vugaris.
