Abstract

Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lung is an extremely rare malignant lesion. This tumor usually presents with nonspecific symptoms and is often diagnosed lately. Surgery is the preferred method of treatment. We report a case of a young patient with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the left main bronchus. The patient underwent local definitive treatment radiation therapy, then experienced recurrence after 2 years. The left lower lobectomy was performed with a part of the left main bronchus and reconstruction of the airway. The surgical procedure was performed safely with stable postoperative recovery. After 3 years of surgery, the patient's overall condition is good, and there is no recurrence or distant metastasis detected on imaging diagnostics.
