Abstract

Objecitve: To evaluate the effectiveness of long pulsed Nd:YAG 1064nm laser in the treatment of warts on hands and feet. Subject and method: 70 patients who have warts lesion (42 males and 28 felmales) ranging in age from 4 to 66. They underwent treatments with laser Nd:YAG 1064nm at spot size 5mm, fluence ranges 100 - 140J/cm2, pulsed duration 30ms, 1Hz repetation rate and, at intervals of 2 - 4 weeks. A comparative cross-sectional descriptive study. Result: Good results were 50 (71.4%) patients and further 3 (4.3%) patients reported improverment. The remaining 17 (24.3%) felt their treatment. There were 5 (7.1%) patients with hemorrhagic blistering after treatment. The average sessions was 2.4 ± 1.6. Conclusion: Long pulsed Nd:YAG 1064nm treatments are safe and effective for warts of hands and feet. However, the disadvantage of the method is the treatment requires several sessions.
