Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the results of intravascular ultrasound-guided left main coronary artery intervention. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 55 chronic coronary artery disease patients underwent intravascular ultrasound-guide percutaneous intervention of left main coronary artery at Bach Mai Hospital, from April 2017 to October 2019. Result: Before intervention: IVUS-base 2-stent strategy compared with conronary angiography decreased from 34.5% to 21.8% (Kappa = 0.604, p<0.001), expected stent diameter was higher than 0.28mm (p<0.001). Intervention techniques: Radial access 58.2%, provision techniques 78.2%, culotte techniques 12.7%. After stenting, IVUS recorded 14.5% malaposition. At the end of the procedure, all patients met IVUS optimal stent criteria. 3.6% coronary arteries spasm during IVUS. IVUS-guided LM intervention achieves were 100%, 100%, and 100% success rates for imaging, procedures, and clinical, respectively. Conclusion: Intravascular ultrasound helps to optimize left main intervention procedure. IVUS-guided LM coronary interventions is safe and effective. The success of procedure reached 100%.
