Abstract

Objective: To evaluate results of living donor liver transplantation using right lobe graft. Subject and method: This was a prospective study to review the clinical outcomes in living donor liver transplantation using right lobe graft. Result: A total of 60 cases of living donor liver transplantation using right lobe graft were collected. The average age was 48.87 ± 13.49 years (13 - 72 years old). Male/female ratio was 9/1. In our group study, there were 27 patients with liver cancer, 18 patients with decompensated cirrhosis and 15 patients with acute liver failure. The average MELD score was 29.4 ± 8.5 points (15 - 40). 15 cases underwent middle hepatic vein reconstruction using GORE-TEX vascular graft, 45 cases was performed living  donor liver transplantation using extended right lobe graft. Vascular complications were 8.3% including: hepatic artery thrombosis, hepatic artery and portal vein stenosis. Biliary stenosis were detected in 7 patients whom were successfully treated with endoscopic stent placement. The 1-year-survival rate was 86.7%. Conclusion: Living donor liver transplantation using right lobe graft provide good results. The technique is safe and effective
