Chest X ray findings and association with clinical data in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19) patients

Abstract

Objective: To describe the chest X-ray findings and to assess the correlation between images with clinical data in covid-19 patients. Subject and method: 356 patients suffering covid-19 disease were treated at the Infectious Field Hospital No.2 from May to Jul. 2021. The comparison between severity on chest X-ray and those of clinical data were performed by Chi square tests. Result: 89.9% patients were mild and moderate, 10.7% patients had abnormal chest X-rays findings. The most common finding on chest X-rays was ground glass opacities affecting the lower lobe. Patients with abnormal chest X-rays usualy suffer more severe and have more symptoms fever, cough and ageusia. The severities on chest X-rays were associated with those of disease. Conclusion: The chest X-ray findings were correlated with the severity of patients suffering COVID-19 disease.
