Abstract

Objective: To describe the clinical features of mucoceles of minor salivary glands. Subject and method: A descriptive cross-sectional study on 27 minor salivary gland cysts, which treated at the Department of Laser and Cosmetic Surgery, 108 Military Central Hospital from June 2020 to June 2021. Result: The mean age of patients was 24.87 ± 4.76 years, females were more common than males. The ratio being broken and revealed many times was 33.3%. The mucocele position on the lower lip was the majority with 66.6%. The basic symptom was poor, the main risk factor was the swell and painless mass. The average size of the mucoceles was 1.83 ± 0.82cm. Risk factors include chronic trauma and trauma accounted for 25.9%, lip bites accounted for 11%. Poor symptoms, mainly swelling causing entanglement accounted for 88.7%, low pain rate of 11%, 88.9% lesions were single, 11.1% multiple superficial mucoceles, 7.4% mucosa divided into lobes. Conclusion: The clinical symptoms of mucocele are poor, diagnosis is mainly base on medical history.
