Abstract

Objective: To conduct efficacy evaluation of antibiotic regimens used in patients at Department of Pediatric burn treatment, Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital in 2019. Subject and method: A retrospective study was conducted with its data obtained from 705 medical records of patients admitted into Department of Pediatric Burn Treatment, Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital from January 1st to December 31th in 2019. The data were analysed by calculating and comparing the outcomes among different antibiotic regimens. Result: The initial-antibiotic regimens succeed in 82.98% cases. Inside, the prophylactic-antibiotic regimens succeed in 86.17% cases (the use of macrolide group was 91.05%, the combination of penecillin/β-lactamase inhibitors and aminoglycoside was high ratio), and therapy-antibiotic regimens succeed in 81.19% cases (the use of penecillin/β-lactamase inhibitors was 62.40% and mostly in combination with aminoglycoside). The use of replaced-antibiotic regimens with one antibiotic group was 76.67% (the use of macrolide group was 38.04% and in highest prescriptions). In replaced-antibiotic combination regimens of two drug groups, aminoglycoside was mainly used with other antibiotics (92.86% of the prescription was recorded). Conclusion: The antibiotic regimens used at Department of Pediatric burn treatment had shown its real-high efficacy on the prescriptive-given patients with popular antibiotic groups as macrolide, penecillin/β-lactamase inhibitors and aminoglycoside.
