Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the results of tooth extraction in patients indicated for cardiovascular surgery, thereby making recommendations on the extraction process for these special subjects. Subject and method: The clinical intervention study on 55 patients with cardiovascular surgery, who need treatment for oral diseases before surgery, including 136 teeth that need extraction. These patients were treated according to the procedure: Preoperative preparation (stopping anticoagulants, using prophylactic antibiotics, removing tartar), preparing additional equipment (hemostatic materials, transaminate solution 5%, sewture materials), the process of tooth extraction and postoperative monitoring. Result: The majority of patients had good results (98.2%), minor bleeding after the extraction occurred in patients who stopped taking oral anticoagulation using heparin bridge method (7.3%) and controlled by local measures of hemostasis. Conclusion: The results of tooth extraction in patients indicated for cardiovascular surgery are safe if there is close coordination between the dentists and cardiologist to prepare before extraction, to ensure control and minimize complications before, during and after tooth extraction.
