Abstract

Objective: To investigate the relationship between some risk factors and chronic venous insufficiency in over 50-year-old patients examined at 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: 333 over-50-year-old patients who went to take the medical examination at Officer Outpatient Department - 108 Military Central Hospital. Analysing and evaluating the impact of each risk factor chronic venous insufficiency. Result: Chronic venous insufficiency accounted for 44.1% of over-50-year-old patients, 66.7% of female gender, 44.3% of overweight, 46.2 of sedentary, the differences between chronic venous insufficiency in two group with and without these factors were not statistically significance (p>0.05). Chronic venous insufficiency 55.7% of smoker, 70.8% of patients having family history, 58.2% of people with chronic dyslipidemia, and the difference with the group without these factors were statistically significance (p<0.05). Conclusion: Patients with family history, cigarette smoking and dyslipidemia are at higher risk of chronic venous insufficiency than patients without these factors.
