Abstract

Objective: This investigation aimed to analyse the root morphology and number of canals in mandibular incisors using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Subject and method: Tetrospective study on CBCT of 215 patients indicated at dentist service center (27 Pham Tuan Tai) from December 2019 to December 2020. Result: A majority of mandibular incisors had one root. Most central (81.6%) and lateral (80.52%) incisors had a single canal. The majority of central (54.9%) and lateral (50.9%) incisors were Vertucci’s type I. Prevalence of one canal in males: Central (85%), lateral (77.5%) and in females: Central (79.6%), lateral (82.2%). Prevalence of Vertucci’s type I in males: Central (52.5%), lateral (45%) and in females: Central (52.5%), lateral (45%). The prevalence of two canals in central and lateral incisors were 18.4% and 19.5% respectively. Result and conclusion: The Vertucci’s type I was the most typical kinds of mandibular incisors. CBCT can be helpful in case of any concern regarding root canal morphology.
