Abstract

Summary

Objective: To evaluate the effects of autologous adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) in combination with platelet rich plasma (PRP) on changes of chronic wound local and some bio-markers. Subject and method: We conducted a descriptive longitudinal study at the Wound Healing Center of Vietnam National Burn Hospital, from March, 2019 to July, 2020. 30 patients with chronic wounds were enrolled in the study and were injected the combination of ADSCs and PRP (ADSCs + PRP) in peri-wound and wound bed. We assessed and recorded the wound edge, wound bed, wound size changes and Periodic acid -Schiff (PAS) response, hydroxyprolin and Matrix metalloproteinase-12 (MMP-12) at the time of before therapy and at the first, second and third week of studied progress. Result: ADSCs + PRP helped to improve the wound healing process: Reduced exudate, promoted the epithelialization, granulation tissue; increased sample number of PAS response at epiderma and basement membrane, increased significantly Hydroxyprolin and reduced significantly MMP-12. Conclusion: ADSCs + PRP stimulated wound healing process by improvement of wound edge and wound bed
