Retroperitoneoscopic renal pedicle lymphatic disconnection for chyluria: A case report

Abstract
Chyluria is defined as abnormal passage of chyle in the urine. It is usually seen in adults and is bilateral, the commonest cause is infestation with Wuchereria bancrofti. Other causes include trauma, tumours, tuberculosis and congenital malformation. Case report: A patient 61 year old women with long -standing, resistant and symptomatic unilateral chyluria. Failure of conservative treatment led to use of retroperitoneoscopic techniques to perform a lymphorenal disconnection. Operative time: 60 minutes. Blood loss: 20ml, no complications intra-postoperative. Conclusion: Retroperitoneoscopic renal pedicle lymphatic disconnection for chyluria is a safe, effective and efficient surgical procedure with minimal invasion, less pain, short hospital stay and rapid recovery.
