Diagnostic value of MR imaging in differentiating parotid gland tumors

Abstract
Objective: To assess the value of MR imaging in differentiating malignant from benign parotid gland tumors. Subject and method: 60 patients (64 parotid gland tumors) were treated at Hanoi Cancer Hospital from Jan. 2019 to May. 2020. The sensitivity, the specificity, and the accuracy of MRI were defined based on 2×2 matrix tables. Result: The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of MRI were 77.8%, 89.1% and 85.9%, respectively. Classification of TICs had Se 80%, Sp 95%, and Acc 88% in the differentiating malignant from benign tumors. Conclusion: MRI is highly accurate in differentiating malignant from benign parotid gland tumors.
