Abstract

Objective: Investigate some factors relating to emotional disorder of students in Hanoi secondary schools in 2016. Subject and method: We conducted a cross-sectional study combining with quantitative analysis of 1118 secondary students. Result: Our study showed some factors relating to emotional disorder such as: Demographic characteristics: Female (OR = 1.7, p=0.0026); living apart from parents (OR = 2.34, p=0.001), having siblings (OR = 0.026, p=0.026). Health conditions: Epilepsy (OR = 9.63, p=0.003), having headache (OR = 2.59, p<0.001); having recurrent abdominal pain (OR = 2.17, p<0.001); sleep disorder (OR = 3.53, p<0.001); smoking (OR = 3.07, p<0.001). School violence: Being bullied inside school (OR = 2.2, p<0.001), being bullied outside school (OR = 2.74, p<0.001); bullying inside school (OR = 1.54, p=0.24); bullying outside school (OR = 1.65, p=0.24). Conclusion: Some factors relating to emotional disorder such as: Demographic characteristics, health conditions, school violence.
