Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the results of antibiotic prophylaxis in the lumbar spinal surgery at 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: 109 patients underwent lumbar spinal surgery combined antibiotic prophylaxis in Neurosurgery Department, 108 Military Central Hospital from February 2017 to March 2018. Method: Prospectively and retrospectively descriptive study. Result: Mean age was 46.7 ± 11.7. The common disease was disc herniation (69.7%). The mean operative time was 60.7 ± 13.1. The body temperature in the post-operative first day was 36.8 ± 0.4. The mean hospital stay was 4.9 ± 1.0 days. The rate had to antibiotic treatment was 3.6%. Conclusion: The use antibiotic prophylaxis in the lumbar spinal surgery was safely, effectively results.
