Abstract

Summary

Objective: To investigate the value of four circulating microRNAs (microRNA: microRNA-155, microRNA-147b, microRNA-223, microRNA-146-3p) in diagnosis of sepsis. Subject and method: 71 sepsis patients treated in Viet-Tiep Hospital, Hai Phong and 108 Military Central Hospital, Ha Noi from November, 2014 to July, 2017 there are 31 Dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) patients and 32 healthy control (HC) were included in the control group. The expression of microRNA-146-3p, microRNA-147b, microRNA-155, microRNA-223 were measured by q-RT-PCR. Result and conclusion: The expression of 4 microRNAs: MicroRNA-146-3p, microRNA-147b, microRNA-155, microRNA-223 in sepsis group was significantly higher than that in healthy control and DHF group (p<0.05). MicroRNA-146-3p and microRNA-147b were good at discrimination sepsis and healthy people and DHF with AUC 0.87 & 0.77 (p<0.01) and 0.90 & 0.78 (p<0.01). Moreover, microRNA-146-3p (AUC: 0.77) and microRNA-147b (AUC: 0.78) were fair at discrimination sepsis and DHF.
