Abstract

Summary


Objective: To analyse some related factors and clinical characteristics of generalized pustular psoriasis. Subject and method: 49 patients with generalized pustular psoriasis treated at the Central Dermatology Hospital, a descriptive cross-sectional study. Result: Male/female ratio: 1/1, mean age of onset: 32.82 ± 19.25 years (the group of under 40-year-old: 67.3%), family history of psoriasis: 14.3%, secondary type: 63.6%. Onset factors: Corticosteroid usage: 30.6%, unknown traditional medicine usage: 24.5%. Conclusion: Pustular psoriasis occurs equally in both genders with late-onset of age which is primary or secondary after a worsening of the plaque psoriasis following an improper treatment. Patients with generalized pustular psoriasis often have severe symptoms including: Fever, fatigue and chills. The certain clinical characteristics are erythema and pustules.
