Abstract
Objective: To determine the visual field index (VFI) cut-off between stages on modified glaucoma symptom scale (mGSS) system in Vietnammese patients. Subject and method: Cross-section study on 55 patients (90 eyes) examined and treated in Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology from September 2016 to September 2017. Result: 38 patients were at the middle age and female was predominant with more than 50%. Mean visual field indexes were -11.49dB (MD), 5.85dB (PSD), 74.2% (VFI). Cut - off values of VFI to discriminate among stages of AGIS were 74.5% (stage 1 & 2), 86.5% (stage 2 & 3), 46% (stage 3 & 4), 27.5% (stage 4 & 5). Conclusion: VFI thresholds of the research population were: VFI ≥ 95% (stage 1), 87% ≤ VFI ≤ 94% (stage 2), 46% ≤ VFI ≤ 86% (stage 3), 28% ≤ VFI < 46% (stage 4); VFI ≤ 27% (stage 5).
