Abstract

Summary

Objective: To observe some relations between pathological features and luminal subtypes of breast cancer. Subject and method: 239 breast cancer patients were classified as luminal subtypes by immunohistochemistry staining and evaluated for relations with pathological characteristics. Result: In patients with low Ki67, p53(-)Bcl2(+) and good Nottingham prognostic index (NPI), luminal A (LUMA) subtype was more common than luminal B (LUMB) (with the following rates of 58.8%, 64.3%, 32.1%  and 55.4%, 50.0%, 18.9%, respectively). Conclusion: LUMA subtype is associated with better pathological factors than LUMB one.

Keywords: Breast cancer, pathology, luminal molecular subtypes.
