Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the effects of HA-coated ZK60 material discs on cardiovascular function in rabbits. Subject and method: Forty-eight white rabbits were randomly divided into three study groups, each consisting of 16 animals: Group 1 received HA-coated ZK60 material discs; Group 2 received uncoated ZK60 material discs; and Group 3 received titanium material discs. Electrocardiograms (ECGs) were recorded and analyzed using extended lead D2 at the following time points: Before surgery, and at 3, 7, 30, 60, 90, and 180 days post-surgery. Result: There were no statistically significant differences in heart rate, P wave amplitude and duration, R wave amplitude, QRS complex duration, or T wave amplitude among the groups. Conclusion: The HA-coated ZK60 material discs, as well as the two control materials (uncoated ZK60 and titanium discs), had minimal impact on cardiovascular function in the experimental model.
