Application of upper eyelid myocutaneous flap in the treatment of lower eyelid retraction due to isolated skin deficiency: Experience from the Military Central Hospital 108

Abstract
Lower eyelid retraction is a relatively common complication following various factors such as: lower blepharoplasty, post-excisional lower eyelid tumor surgery or post-trauma . At the Military Central Hospital 108, we have applied and refined multiple approaches for the treatment of lower eyelid retraction, tailored to the severity and extent of tissue defects, with the aim of restoring the anatomical position and functional integrity of the lower eyelid. Among these techniques, the upper myocutaneous flap has emerged as a promising reconstructive option in cases of lower eyelid skin deficiency, offering several advantages of optimal functional and aesthetic results in the correction of lower eyelid retraction
