Abstract
Objectives: To describe the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with endometrial polyps undergoing hysteroscopic surgery at the Department of Gynecology, A Thai Nguyen Hospital, from January 2024 to December 2024; evaluate the outcomes of hysteroscopic polypectomy and associated factors at A Thai Nguyen Hospital in 2024. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 109 patients with endometrial polyps who underwent hysteroscopic surgery at A Thai Nguyen Hospital. Results: The study on 109 patients showed that the mean age was 34.5 ± 6.3 years. The most common symptom was abnormal uterine bleeding (52.3%). The majority of polyps were located in the uterine corpus (78.9%), and 100% of histopathological results were benign. The hysteroscopic surgery achieved a 96% success rate with a mean operative time of 41.2 ± 14 minutes. Operative time had a statistically significant association with obstetric history (prolonged in the nulliparous group, p = 0.004), polyp location (the multiple-location group had the longest duration, p < 0.001), and polyp size. The postoperative course was uneventful; 96% of patients had no complications, while minor complications occurred in 4% of cases, including bleeding (3%) and mild infection (1%). The mean length of hospital stay was 6.7 days. Conclusion: Hysteroscopic surgery is a safe and optimally effective treatment option with a high success rate and minimal complications. Obstetric history and polyp characteristics significantly influence the operative time.
