The value of PLR, NLR, and SII in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract
Objective: To determine platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in patients with psoriasis vulgaris, and to evaluate the association between these indices and disease severity assessed by the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI). Subject and method: This was a prospective, comparative cross-sectional study with a control group, including 38 patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis vulgaris and 38 healthy controls matched for age and sex. The inflammatory indices analyzed included the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and eosinophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (ELR). Result: Among the investigated indices; NLR, SII, and PLR showed a statistically significant difference between the psoriasis group and the control group (p<0.05). In addition, NLR and SII were significantly higher in patients with severe psoriasis compared to those with moderate disease (p<0.05). Conclusion: The findings suggest that PLR, NLR, and SII may serve as potential inflammatory biomarkers in patients with psoriasis.
