Abstract
hospitalized patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Subject and method: A prospective cohort study was conducted on 127 CAP patients admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine, Military Hospital 175, between January 2024 and July 2025. Both the Brixia score and CURB-65 score were applied to stratify risk and predict adverse outcomes. Result: A total of 127 patients were enrolled, with a mean age of 60.6 ± 21.9 years; 59.8% were male and 40.2% female. Higher Brixia scores were significantly associated with increased risk of poor clinical outcomes (p<0.05). The Brixia score demonstrated a moderate predictive value with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.78, which was lower compared to the CURB-65 score (AUC = 0.82). Conclusion: The Brixia score is a simple and useful tool for predicting clinical outcomes in hospitalized CAP patients. However, its accuracy can be improved when combined with other prognostic factors.
