Abstract
Objective: To describe the relationship between plasma sPD-L1 concentration and other clinical and paraclinical characteristics in patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma. Subject and method: Cross-sectional comparative study; 50 patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma and 30 patients with low-grade dysplastic colorectal adenoma polyp, diagnosed at the Department of Pathology - 108 Military Central Hospital. Result: The mean age of the colorectal adenocarcinoma patients studied was 65.64 (±10.68), with the highest prevalence in the 50-69 age group (56%), with a higher incidence in men than in women, often occurring in the right colon and mainly with moderate differentiation. The mean sPD-L1 concentration of the colorectal adenocarcinoma patient group was 89.59 ± 29.21pg/mL, significantly higher than that of the colorectal adenomatous polyp patient group with low-grade epithelial dysplasia. There was no significant difference in the mean sPD-L1 concentration between men and women, age groups, stages and differentiation levels. There was no correlation between sPD-L1 concentration and CEA concentration, white blood cell count and patient age. Conclusion: Plasma sPD-L1 levels were significantly elevated in colorectal adenocarcinoma compared with low-grade dysplastic adenoma, with an AUC of 0.771 and 90% specificity, suggesting that sPD-L1 may serve as a complmentary biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis in colorectal cancer.
