Survey on knowledge, attitude, and behavior of parents with children diagnosed with atopic dermatitis at Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermato-venereology in 2025

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the knowledge, attitude and behavior of parents regarding atopic dermatitis in children and to determine the relationship between parental demographic features and their understanding, attitude, and behavior toward the disease. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study conducted on 160 parents whose children were diagnosed with atopic dermatitis at Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermato-venereology from October 2024 to March 2025. Result: Nearly 80% of participants had accurate knowledge about atopic dermatitis, while only about 60% had a correct attitude toward the disease. However, up to 97.5% of parents demonstrated appropriate behavior in managing their child's condition. Conclusion: A high proportion of parents possessed correct knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding atopic dermatitis. However, there are still gaps in knowledge and attitude, and certain behaviors that reduce treatment effectiveness need to be addressed through health education and communication programs.
