Abstract

Objective: To assess the outcome of endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) to treat gastrointestinal adenoma. Subject and method: A perspective descriptive study. Patients: 98 patients with gastrointestinal adenoma were performed (EMR) at Department of Gastroenterology, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital from 3/2020 to 3/2022. Result: The rate of curative resection 100%. The rate of bleeding 5.1%. The mean procedure time was 8.2 minutes with tumors ≤ 2cm, 37.2 minutes with tumors > 2cm. The cases with size of lesions < 2cm and > 2cm were 70.41% and 29.59%, respectively. Adenoma (97.96%), early stage adenocarcinoma (2.04%). Bleeding complications 5.1%, no perforation. Conclusion: Endoscopic mucosal resection is an effective and safe therapy which gastrointestinal adenoma. The most frequent complication is bleeding but could be managed.
