Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between blood glucose control and some clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with new-onset diabetes mellitus after kidney transplantation. Subjects and method: Conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study on 118 patients diagnosed with onset diabetes after kidney transplant with average age 46.6 ± 10.25 years old, male: female ratio was 2:1. All patients had their fasting blood glucose measured and clinical and paraclinical factors determined. Result: Blood glucose control was associated with pathological diet adherence, p<0.05. HbA1c control is related to the duration of post-transplant diabetes, time after kidney transplant, glomerular filtration rate and Cyclosporin A treatment, p<0.05. Conclusion: Blood glucose control is related to diet compliance and some clinical and paraclinical characteristics.
