Abstract

Condylar hyperplasia (CH) is a rare mandibular disorder characterized by excessive and prolonged condylar growth, leading to facial asymmetry, malocclusion, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Diagnosis relies on clinical examination, X-rays, 3D CT, and bone scintigraphy to assess condylar activity. Treatment varies depending on condylar growth status, with high condylectomy and orthognathic surgery being common approaches. This report presents two cases of unilateral CH managed surgically. One patient underwent high condylectomy without postoperative orthodontics, resulting in suboptimal occlusion, while the other received additional orthodontic treatment, achieving improved functional and aesthetic outcomes. This study highlights the importance of comprehensive diagnosis and individualized treatment planning in CH management.
