Abstract

Objective: To describe some clinical characteristics and the relationship with the patient’s satisfaction in patients with primary knee osteoarthritis at 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: Prospective and descriptive study in 245 patients with primary knee osteoarthritism, treated at Rheumatology Department - 108 Military Central Hospital from November 2020 to May, 2021. The researched index included: Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), the Lequesne index, and the patient’s satisfaction. Result: The average age was 62.3 ± 13.0, the male/female ratio was 1.5/1. The VAS score at T0, 1, 2 were 5.85 ± 2.55, 3.69 ± 1.63 points and 2.15 ± 1.12 points, respectively. The Lequesne index at T0, 1, 2 were 16.98 ± 4.21, 14.30 ± 4.12 points and 11.52 ± 3.54 points, respectively. A total of 86.53% patients were satisfied and more in term of nursing care. The patients with mild and average severities had the satisfaction of “satisfied and very satisfied” higher than the patients who were severe. Conclusion: Patient satisfaction with nursing care was high. VAS pain score and Lequesne score for knee osteoarthritis severity improved after 7 days of treatment. The lower the pain score and osteoarthritis severity, the higher the satisfaction.
