Abstract

Objective: To present the clinical characteristics, techniques and results of cryptotia surgery with local skin flaps, the complications and how to deal with. Subject and method: Prospective study combined with retrospective, cross-sectional description with longterm follow-up, convenience sampling. Result: The average age of patients in the study group was 14 ± 10 years old, the most common age for examination and treatment was 6-18 years old. The ratio of coming to surgery between male and female patients was 14/2. Before surgery, there was no case with a mastoid ear angle > 20 degrees. After surgery, 24/26 ears reached 20-30 degrees. Before surgery, there was no case with ear circumference ratio reaching > 90%, after surgery, 24/26 ears reached over 90%: Patients used the skin flap design method using the Multi V-Y flap of 14 (53.84%). Conclusion: Congenital buried ear defects have a higher rate of male patients than female patients, mainly of student age. Using local skin flaps with V-Y or multi V-Y shaping techniques, 100% need to release the misplaced muscles of the ear to shape the cartilage framework, bringing high efficiency, with good results reaching 81.5%.
