Abstract

Objective: To describe the results of the treatment for lumbar spine syndrome due to lumbar spondylolisthesis by electro-acupuncture combined with acupressure massage and Williams exercises. Subject and method: Observational study on sixty patients who were diagnosed with low back pain due to lumbar spondylolisthesis were divided into two groups: The group 1 was treated with electro-acupuncture and acupressure massage combined with Williams exercises. The group 2 was treated with electro-acupuncture combined with acupressure massage. Result: After 15 days of the treatment, in each of both the groups the mean score of VAS, lumbar spine range of motion, ground distance, and muscle tension level improved significantly while comparing the before treatment with the after treatment (p<0.05) and and the group 1 was better than the group 2 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Electro-acupuncture combined with acupressure massage and Williams exercise had the effect of improving the lumbar spine syndrome due to lumbar spondylolisthesis.
