Abstract

Objective: To examine factors linked to the social work requirements of patients and their families at 108 Military Central Hospital in 2023. Subject and method: Employing a cross-sectional descriptive research methodology involving 420 patients seeking outpatient care at 108 Military Central Hospital. Our observations encompassed activities such as reception, guidance, information dissemination, introduction to healthcare services, and various supportive interventions. Result: We also provided counseling services to apprise patients of their legal rights, obligations, and relevant details regarding social programs and policies related to health insurance and medical care subsidies at the hospital. The study covered the correlations between occupation, income, types of treated diseases, hospitalization frequency per year, duration of ongoing treatment, and the ability to address social work needs. Conclusion: The demand for social work services among patients and their families at the hospital is noteworthy. Social Work Department staff fully served as a bridge to help patients address their concerns at the hospital.
