Results of treatment of acute pyelonephritis caused by ureteral stones by percutaneous nephrostomy at 108 Military Central Hospital

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the results of treatment of severe acute pyelonephritis due to ureteral stones by percutaneous nephrostomy at 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: A study of 50 patients undergoing percutaneous nephrostomy for severe acute pyelonephritis caused by ureteral stones at the Urology - Andrology Center, 108 Military Central Hospital from 10/2020 to 6/2022. Result: The mean age was 60.8 ± 11.6 (age), high fever, shiver accounted for 92%, pyelonephritis grade 4 and grade 5 accounted for 76%. 100% success rate, 92% of patients improved clinically on the first day after drainage. Conclusion: Percutaneous nephrostomy is a simple, safe and effective method for the treatment of severe acute pyelonephritis due to ureteral stones.
