Assessing preoperative anxiety of inpatients at the Department of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery, 108 Military Central Hospital

Abstract
Objective: To assess the level of preoperative anxiety of inpatients at the Department of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery, 108 Military Central Hospital, from July 2023 to September 2023. Subject and method: A retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study. Collect data by survey using the BAI questionnaire (Beck Anxiety Inventory). Result: The study comprised a cohort of 160 patients, among whom the prevalence of preoperative anxiety was 61.9%. A strong and statistically significant correlation (p<0.05) exists between the patient's psychological state before surgery and surgical history. Conclusion: Preoperative patients commonly experience anxiety as a significant concern. To enhance the mental well-being of patients, medical personnel must get comprehensive evaluation, therapeutic guidance, and psychological assistance.
